The Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of
Education consists of nine community residents elected by District
voters to serve three-year terms. The board determines the
educational policies of the school system in order to maintain a
high-quality program for all students. Policies set by the board
reflect state-mandated curriculum, as well as innovations developed
specifically for
HF-L. The policies are carried out by the Superintendent
of Schools and the District's administrative
staff. School board members are not paid for
their work.
Residents are encouraged to attend school board
meetings, which are regularly held on the second
and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Meetings
are usually held in the board meeting room at
the High School.
An agenda item
called "Open Forum" allows the public and
all other stakeholders in our children’s education to comment on
matters regarding the school district. Items involving specific
personnel should be dealt with privately. The Board reserves the
right to place limits on the amount of time allotted to each
speaker. Agenda items under the Board of Education report and
Superintendent’s report are for Board of Education discussion and
action. Questions from the audience concerning these items will be
taken at the end of the meeting.

The Board of Education has an active Audit
Committee that works with the District's External Auditor, Internal
Auditor and Claims Auditor to assure maximum efficiency and internal
controls in District financial matters. Further detail is
