District Commitments

Foundation Commitments
We are committed to Improving Decision Making and Coordination
We will continue to improve the ways we decide curriculum, budget, extra-curricular program offerings and other programs.  We will use one process for all such decisions and that process will include steps for budget input/approval and being sure we are consistent with the Strategic Plan.

We are committed to Improving Information We Have
We will expand and organize the information we have for making decisions and planning.  Specifically, we will get more information on the history of programs, of student achievement and of program effectiveness.  We will develop a longitudinal database to aid in making decisions and allocating resources.  The information will be readily accessible for internal evaluation and improvement of student performance.

We are committed to Improving Communication
We will better communicate the priorities, decision-making, programs, and activities to our school community.  We will better utilize existing forms of communication and continue to seek new and improved ways of communicating.

We are committed to Hiring and Developing Great Staff
We will hire the best available employees. We will provide training that will help employees improve their skills and that will be closely related to the staff’s responsibilities and our programs.  The training will include skills for staff to achieve the specific objectives of our plan.

We are committed to Strategic Plan Awareness
We will inform the community of this plan and invite their participation in accomplishing the specific objectives of the plan.

We are committed to Improving Facilities
We will strive for maximum utilization of our buildings, fields, materials, resources and build the facilities needed to educate our students.

Program Commitments
We are committed to Checking Our Progress
We will fairly measure our progress in improving our schools and make the results public.  We will use the same standards to measure all programs, and those standards will measure student improvement.

We are committed to Coordinating Education from Kindergarten thru Grade 12
We will continuously improve the coordination of curricula and instruction from Kindergarten through Grade 12 and we will set standards to be accomplished by each grade level and each content area.

We are committed to best practice Literacy Instruction K-12
We will continuously reflect, study and implement research-based literacy strategies and infuse these strategies in all curricular areas.

We are committed to provide and monitor the programs, opportunities and courses that enrich, challenge and foster the skills, talents and unique interests of our students.  We will continue to develop programs and courses  that meet the need of this Strategic Commitment.

We are committed to Involving the Parents and Community in the School
We will involve the parents more in student learning and school programs, and involve the community more in school decisions including use of facilities.

We are committed to Continuously Improving the Teaching and Learning Process
We will promote continuous improvement in teaching and learning and utilize technology to contribute to that improved teaching and learning.
