Middle School PTA Meeting - March 27,2008 7:00 pm @ Middle School Cafeteria

Meeting Minutes

In Attendance - Colleen Allen, Patti Hill, Cathy Hoose, Ann Knaak, Susan Less, Carol Matthews,

Ann Muir, Kelly Paganelli, Amy West, Sylvia Willard, Shawn Williams

Committee Updates

Treasurer: Financial Report was handed out to all attending members. Again, only concern was expenses vs

revenues of Cougar Cupboard. Ann and Colleen to follow up with committee chair.

Mardi Gras: Another successful event with 413 students attending. Sylvia to give donation check to Committee

Chairs for them to send. Student Council selected Golisano's Children Hospital for the donation this

year. Profits (after donation) split with Student Council.

Continued discussion of how to increase student council role for this event. Committee Chairs to work with Alicia DeFranco and Jared Roberts on ideas for next year.

Some parents expressed that students were complaining about the music. It was suggested that perhaps the Student Council could conduct a survey to gage students opinion.

Pizza Card Fundraiser: Forms were distributed during lunch period last week. Tables will be setup during lunch periods

the week of March 31st to hand in forms/hand out pizza cards.

Volunteers are needed to help sell Pizza Cards during Cougar Creations. Please contact Carol Matthews or Sue Geraci if you are available.

It was suggested that the order form also be sent out via MS Messages for those families who did not get an order form hand delivered :-)

Cougar Creations: Volunteers are still needed for setup and cleanup. If anyone is available, then please

contact Donna Fronk.

Mini Grants: Very few mini grant applications have been submitted this year. Due to continued interest in use of the school

courtyard, Shawn Williams has suggested that the student council work towards getting picnic tables for the

courtyard. Use of the tables could be used for special recognition or special events.

Shawn to work with Student Council on submitting a Mini-Grant application to help pay for the tables.

8th Grade Bash: Scheduled for May 2nd from 6:30 - 9:30. The DJ is booked although there is some discrepancy

as to who funds the DJ (school or PTA).

Susan to follow-up with Jim Nelson, Sue Parker and Lauren Shaffer for forms and process used in the past.

PTA Positions for 2008-2009: The following positions are available for next year: Building Co-Chair, Treasurer,

Volunteer Coordinator, 8th Grade Bash Coordinator. Ann and Colleen to verify positions/need for Pizza

Bingo and Cougar Cupboard. If anyone is interested, please contact Ann or Colleen.

Ann to give list of open positions to Shawn Williams for availability at upcoming orientations.

Ann to send open positions to Manor School for interested parents.

Colleen to highlight PTA at 5th-6th grade orientation on April 29th.

This was the last scheduled MS PTA Meeting for the 2007-2008 school year. If you have any PTA questions, concerns or

suggestions, please contact the Building Co-Chairs: Ann Muir and Colleen Allen.
