Accessing the District VPN

from a Home Computer.

 

What is a VPN?

A VPN or Virtual Private Network is a secure method for an authorized user to access a closed network from a remote location using an internet connection.

What type of an Internet connection is required?

A Roadrunner or DSL cable connection will work fine to allow a connection to the VPN.
Unfortunately, Dial-up service does not offer the necessary bandwidth for this type of connection and it not recommended for this purpose

What type of Computer is required?

A PC or Windows computer running Windows XP with Service pack 1 or higher

A Macintosh computer running OS 10.3 or higher
