Re: Program Budget Planning

PRESS RELEASE

HF-L Seeks Volunteers for Program Budget Planning

The Honeoye Falls-Lima School District is seeking community members to participate in planning its programs and annual budget through the Community Program Budget Advisory Council (PBAC) and the Decision Input Units (DIUs). Community members interested in participating in district planning are asked to contact the District by Wednesday, September 10, 2008.

The Program Budget Advisory Council (PBAC) welcomes community members to participate in its review of program and budget proposals from all of the HF-L schools and departments. The PBAC is made up of community members and representatives from the Board of Education. It serves as an advisory group to our schools and the Board of Education by offering feedback to departments about school program and budget proposals. Community members interested in serving on the PBAC complete an application for membership and are appointed by the Board of Education. PBAC meetings are open to the public and are held on Thursdays from January through March in the Board of Education Room at the High School at 6 p.m.

Members of the Decision Input Units (DIU) plan the instructional program and services offered to HF-L students. They review background information and budget materials and develop new budget proposals for District programs with HF-L administrators, staff and faculty. Residents can participate in the following Decision Input Units: K-5, Middle School, High School, Buildings & Grounds, Transportation, K-12 Music, Health/Physical Education/Interscholastic Athletics and Districtwide Services.

To participate in a Decision Input Unit, call the site administrator at: K-5 (624-7160), Middle School (624-7100), High School (624-7051), Buildings & Grounds (624-7040), Transportation (624-7045), K-12 Music (624-7160), Health/Physical Education/Interscholastic Athletics (624-7070) and Districtwide Services (624-7000).
