New and Expanded
Partnerships
Bring HF-L Students New Opportunities
New partnerships are bringing new
opportunities to students in the Honeoye Falls – Lima School
District this year. A partnership with the Mendon Foundation will
see continued support of HF-L student artists through the Mendon
Foundation’s Mendon Station Festival, as well as ongoing support for
Earth Day festivities. New this year, the Mendon Foundation
will oversee and manage finances for the Cougar Tech 2228 Robotics
Team, which began last year and flourished with strong participation
and great support from a number of community members and groups.
The District has also received a new grant totaling over $250,000
from the Greater Rochester Health Foundation. The grant will
allow the Manor School to initiate a program that capitalizes on
children’s fascination with interactive technology. A virtual
fitness lab will house interactive stationary bikes, an interactive
sports wall and an XerDance machine. The funds will also be
used to market nutritional food purchases from the Manor School
Cafeteria.
A partnership with the Honeoye Falls – Mendon Volunteer Ambulance
Company (HFMVAC) will provide use of the Wellness Center and pool to
members of the HFMVAC during community use times. In exchange,
HFMVAC will, when possible, continue to provide a standby EMT crew
at home football games and will grant access to the District to its
CPR training equipment and facilities for training purposes.
