Tax Rates Set as Projected
Tax rates for the nine towns that comprise the Honeoye Falls –
Lima School District were set by the HF-L Board of Education on
August 12. Tax rates decreased by –3.00% in Mendon, Henrietta
and Rush and increased in Lima, Avon and Victor by 0.45%. Tax
rates in Livonia and Richmond increased 5.05% and tax rates in West
Bloomfield increased 4.02% due to the reduction in equalization
rates in those towns. Overall tax rates decreased from $21.33 to
$20.69 per $1,000 of assessed value in Mendon, a decrease of $0.64,
and increased from $22.16 to $22.26 per $1,000 of assessed value in
Lima, an increase of $0.10.
The Board sets the actual
tax rate each August, when three figures are determined:
Total property tax values (from the nine towns that
comprise the District) School aid figures (from New York
State) Equalization rates (from New York
State)
Although the tax rates are decreasing in some towns,
property owners may see an increase in their tax bills due to town
reassessment of their property.
