The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District will celebrate Fall Weekend beginning Thursday, September 24, and ending Sunday, September 27, 2009.  The annual event is a community celebration featuring a pep rally, parade, sporting events and the Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

Thursday’s events include an opportunity for high school students to meet Alumni Hall of Fame inductees in the High School Library.  Beginning at 4:30PM on Thursday, the community is invited to attend competitions involving Girls Freshman and Modified Soccer, Girls JV and Varsity Swimming, Girls Varsity Tennis and JV Volleyball.  Girls Varsity Volleyball will compete at 6:00PM.

The finale to Spirit Week on Friday will be pep rallies followed by a Boys Modified Soccer game at 4:30PM.

Members of the community will line Village streets along the parade route from Brongo Bowl to Manor Elementary for the Fall Weekend Parade that begins at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, September 26.  This year’s parade is dedicated to an Olympic theme.  The HF-L Football Team will play St. Mary’s High School at 1:30PM.  A brief induction ceremony to the Alumni Hall of Fame is scheduled on the field at half-time.  The public is invited to join inductees in the HS Cafeteria following the football game for a reception ceremony featuring the HF-L Select Chorus to perform songs dedicated to each inductee.

The HF-L Alumni Hall of Fame was established to recognize graduates of Honeoye Falls, Lima and Honeoye Falls-Lima Schools who have made outstanding contributions to their school, community and country in their years following graduation.  The eight outstanding inductees to be honored this year are:  Dorothy Snoddy Maloney, Sandra Lee Tullius, Eileen Hutchinson Havens, Heinz G.
