Art Boosters Meeting Minutes
January 17, 2007 7 PM – 8 PM Middle School Art Room
Attending: Jenn Briggs; Kelly Recktenwald; Ellen Hallahan, parent; Cindy
Morsheimer; Cindy Zauski; Dan McCarthy; Tris Downer, parent; Virginia Floss,

• Cougar Creations is on March 30, 2007 • Silent Auction open
times from 4 PM to 7:15 PM; winning bidders names will be posted at 7:30 to see
who won what items • Ask Jim Nelson to read script about Art Auction and
time of closing bids • Jenn Briggs will send info blurb to Jayne
Drumheller for high school; Shawn Williams at Middle; Dan at Manor; Jeanine at
Lima. • Pick-up of awards will be from 7:30 or 8:30 “need not be present
to win – we will call winners” • Need more cash in the box to start;
change also; some patrons brought hundred dollar bills to pay for their winning
auction bid • Need to solicit high school students to donate art, if
possible for them to part with their work • Will write notes to those
who donated art last year, and solicit donations for last year • Can we
solicit quilts as donations? Knit blankets? We will advertise and
call those we know involved in such activities • Update website with new
form Got Art? (Ellen Hallahan will send this updated form to Dan and the Art
teachers.) • BIG Signs around the building were done by Ellen; Cindy did
simple paper fliers that directed people to the Art Room • This year Art
Booster meetings have been different. Art teachers set the agenda and take
minutes on a rotating basis. All meetings are at Middle School Room
114. Elementary Art Teachers host Wed., Oct 18 at 7 PM; Middle School
teachers host on Wednesday, Jan. 17; High School teachers host Wed., March 7,
2007 at 7 PM; all Art teachers host last meeting on Wed., April 14, 2007 at 7
PM. • This year’s goals include work on the web page; increased
visibility of Art Boosters; further development of Local Resource Guide to name
just a few. Further discussion at future meetings. • Harold Coogan
reports that Julia Panek, grade 12, will be doing this year’s poster for Cougar
Creations
• Grant proposal; Barb Salter – looking to write a grant that involves
art, music
• Still working on resource guide; Cindy will check with tech people
about a form that can be directly submitted to her electronically
• Ceramic bowls made to celebrate Tales of Despereaux by Kate
DeCamillo Make bowls in Middle School Art Room Wednesday, January 31;
2:30-4:00 pm Thursday, February; 2:30-4:00 pm Auction bowls on February 28
and money goes to support activities of the Community Reads program this year
and in the future Bonnie Foster and Jenna Thompson are our contact persons
for the ceramic bowls project.
Treasurer’s Report: $2,218.50 in our non-interest bearing checking account at
Canandaigua National Bank.
