Mr. Bacon entertains with a reading from Despereaux at
our Community Reads Kickoff on January 18.
All
community members are invited to join us in reading The Tale of Despereaux
by Kate
DiCamillo, the story of a small mouse's quest to save a kidnapped
princesses. The book is a Newbery Medal winner and is appropriate for all
ages. The book was selected due to its many themes in encouraging positive
choices based on character and diversity, and its potential to pique the
interests of people from various generations. Book discussions will take
place throughout January and February, and the program will conclude on February
28, 2007. Discussion groups will meet throughout our community to share their
learnings. We invite you to join us! Please contact Lisa Osur, High School Library
Media Specialist, for more information.
