Music Boosters Meeting

Attending:  Mark Borden, Dave & Lisa Fisher, Kim Brienzi, Gordon & Carol Bennett, Ken Goold, Becky Deisenroth, Milt Mashner, Pat O’Kelly, June Santini and Dan McCarthy.

1. Treasurer’s Report

Checking Account  $2,717.83
Savings Account  $8,618.38

2. QED Update

Budget Vote Tuesday, May 15.  Music Teachers made note that next year Middle School Students in 7th and 8th grade will not be taking general music if enrolled in band or chorus.  (Correction noted here from minutes of March 2007.)

3. In-House Solo Fest

• Concern expressed about the overlap of Solo Fest and the Global Café in the same building location.

4. A. Mark updated our group about Essentially Ellington
    B.  Golden Voice Plaques started in 1991.
    C.  Music Boosters started in 1975.

5.  Poinsettia Sale.  Lisa Fisher will run this again.  This will be her last year, and we need to seek a replacement.

6.  We reviewed and added to our Mission Statement.  We will review in the Fall and then post it to the website.

7.  There are approximately 40 extra music stands that need to be disposed of according to District Policy.  Dan/Mark will check with Kevin Hamilton about the process to do that.

8.  Music Booster Scholarship winners announced to the group confidentially.

9.  Mark shared the Capital Planning committee's awareness of the needs of Music teachers in the District.  Middle School's music rooms need expansion and storage.  Manor School needs an all-purpose large instructional area for groups of 100-200 students.

10.  Grant Update:  Middle School will have MJ Iuppa in April 2008 through the Greater Rochester Arts Council.
