Lima PTA Meeting
Lima PTA Meeting Notes February 12, 2007
All attendees were asked to review the Smarty Snippits for any additions or
deletions. Refer to the attachment.
Treasurer's Report - Lauri Hofmann
· The Treasurer's Report was
reviewed by all attendee's. We discussed shifting a few budget items from the
original budget. This would not result in a net change, just a shift between
lines. Below is the proposal:
· Visiting Authors would
increase by $500 (change in amount required for Author from
anticipated)
· Decrease teacher mini-grants
from $1,500 to $1,000. Teacher mini-grants have expenses $161 thus far, the
budget does not generally get all used.
· Community Assets contributions
can decrease $200 from $2,000 to $1,800 (underspent and done)
· Fall parade decreases by $65
(underspent and done)
· Harvest Day/Fall Festival
decreases from $500 to $0 since this expense is in Fitness
Festival.
· Total decreases are
$765.
· Grandparents day increased
from $25 to $200 (we had to purchase coffee supplies)
· Parent University increases
from $50 to $100 (more then we anticipated in attendance).
· RSCD Sharing and Caring Day is
added with a budget of $540.
· Total increases
$765.
An e-mail was sent to all PTA members to communicate proposed change. If no
one opposes, the shifts will be made using money that was unspent in other areas
to offset a few other additions.
Visit from RCSD - Lauri Hofmann
· Today some of our Kindergarten
and First Grade classes hosted a group of students from the Rochester School of
learning, School #15. The students read a story together, played get-to-know-you
games and celebrated Valentine's Day together!
· Our new friends were sent home
with special letters prepared by our students, goody bags and the book they read
together. We hope that pen-pal relationships will be formed with our new
friends.
School Spirit - Kathy Shah
· Sales are going great! Another
$500 was sold since the Treasurer's Report was prepared.
100th Day of School - Kathy Shah
· The school was decorated with
stars everywhere!! There were 100 stars going up the stairs and another down the
hall. Kathy had stickers for all the students and created a special "100th day
Banner."
Author Visit - Shawn Krest
· Highly acclaimed author Robin
Pulver will be visiting Lima Primary on Friday, February 16. Some of her books
will be available for sale. Volunteers needed to prepare side dishes i.e. salad,
dessert, etc. for lunch on Friday for author and staff.
