HF-L Parent's Guide to At-Home Learning Tools

This video provides an overview of the technology tools HF-l is using to provide at-home learning resources and experiences to students. It is intended to assist parents in supporting their children's education from home.

The District has been involved in much discussion about how best to keep HF-L students, teachers and staff “safe” while video conferencing during this tremendous period of change. The BOCES of New York State has created a website that will help districts better protect itself when utilizing video conferencing in any format.

Specific to Zoom:

1. By getting Zoom through BOCES, the District now has a 2d compliant contract with Erie 2.

2. By going through the BOCES the District has added support from BOCES teams with account management abilities to add additional layers of security. The District also has administrative rights to manage individual district accounts.

3. Zoom has made specific changes to their educational accounts. The host has more control over the meeting with management of shared screens, waiting rooms, etc. All of this information can be found through our BOCES resources below.
