Long Range Master Facilities Project - Phase I

On December 8, 2009, voters in the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District approved the first phase of a capital improvement project at a cost of $32,364,000. The project is being funded through $29,572,000 in state building aid and $2,792,000 from the Capital Reserve Fund with no local tax impact.
The project addressed:

  • Renovations and infrastructure improvements at all buildings
  • Site work to improve safety and traffic flow
  • The addition of space for the arts at the Middle School
  • Athletic field upgrades and additions
  • The introduction of solar panels and other energy efficiencies
  • Redesign of science and technology classrooms, as well as the purchase of related equipment and furniture

The proposition also included the purchase of two land parcels adjacent to the main campus.
Project Timeline:

  • Phase 1A - Completed Summer/Fall 2010
  • Phase 1B - Completed Summer 2011
  • Phase 1C - Completed Summer 2012

Capital Project Status Updates

Phase 1C, completed during the summer of 2012, included:

  • New additions to Middle School
  • New High School Library
  • Library and Gym renovations at Lima

Phase 1B, the mid-point of the District's capital project work, included:

  • Improved safety at Lima through the creation of a new parent drop-off area and a bus loop that allows the buses to load and unload off of College Street.
  • Safer traffic flow and expanded parking at the High School.
  • New fields were installed on the main campus and the baseball field drainage was improved.
  • The technology rooms at the High School were updated and the new team room addition was begun.

Phase 1A, completed during the summer and fall of 2010, saw the following updates and upgrades:

  • A turf surface was installed on the James Dollard Stadium field. Additionally, the track was repaired and resurfaced.
  • Work on a new fueling station with safety enhancements at Transportation was completed, including the installation of new diesel fuel pumps and a new Bus Garage canopy with a sprinkler system for safety.
  • Wiring to enhance wireless capabilities was completed
  • The stone parking area behind District Office was paved with asphalt in a portion of the area. The existing lot had continued to deteriorate and the stone base created a possible safety concern.
  • Roof work at Transportation and MS was completed
  • New carpeting at MS was completed
