Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Coronavirus COVID-19 is an ongoing public health situation. The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District will continue to monitor the information communicated from the local, state and federal levels. At this time, the District has not been notified of any confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our school community.  The District will keep the Honeoye Falls-Lima community informed of any new information to ensure the health and wellness of the school community. This page contains the most current information, including a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section, messages that were sent to Honeoye Falls-Lima parents, as well as documents and resource websites you may find helpful.

From the School Board President

March 15, 2020

Dear HF-L Community,

This afternoon we held an emergency Board of Education meeting to be briefed on the status of our schools closing and the latest news surrounding COVID-19.

The board will meet as needed during this pandemic to ensure that the superintendent of schools and administration have the support needed to guide us through these uncertain times. Please know that the safety of our students, staff and families are of the utmost importance.

With that said, in person meetings of the Board of Education are being suspended. We will meet via video chat/streaming until further notice. New York State has recently changed the rules of public meeting laws to allow this. We have tested the technology and are confident that we will be able to allow the public to access the meetings.

Please note that the district is closed for students from March 16, 2020 until further notice. Depending upon the length of the closure, the board of education may be required to amend the school calendar to eliminate the Memorial Day Holiday and other school vacation days. During this time, the superintendent is authorized to follow the Federal, State and County orders and to take such action as necessary and proper to operate the school district.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to work through the logistics. I encourage you to follow the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control to keep safe.

Thank you,

Carol Bellavia
Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education

Meal Distribution Plan

Honeoye Falls-Lima will provide meals to students in need during the school closure. Beginning Wednesday, March 18, the District will be providing support to families. Look for more information to be posted tomorrow, March 16, 2020.

Access to the Building and Essential Items

Staff and parents have inquired about picking up essential items like medicine or critical instructional resources. Please contact the main office of your building, after 9 AM on Tuesday, March 17, to schedule an appointment to pick up that item. The item will be delivered to the main office or lobby between 10 AM and 3 PM. This will only occur on Tuesday, (March 17) for Essential Items, as it is critical for us to be able to completely disinfect our entire school district by limiting visits and allowing time for that work to be effective.

Educational Materials for Students

Please verify that your family's information in School Tool is correct.  If there are updates, please leave a message at 624-7123 or email zoe.stein@hflcsd.org.

Future Communication

You will receive another message before Tuesday about how and when students will be able to obtain educational materials, technology resources, and essential belongings left at school.

Local public health and school leaders will be reviewing this closure weekly. As of now, school is closed through the end of this week, March 16-20, and we will provide you with an update by midday Friday so you can continue to plan accordingly.

We will continue to provide guidance and updates during the school closure. Timely information and additional resources can be found on this page.
