POSITION

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

PREFERRED CREDENTIALS


Senior Staff


  • Report directly to the Summer Rec Coordinator

  • Responsible for daily management of assigned Summer Rec. age group/ activity

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all assigned children and staff

  • Supervise all assigned staff, ensuring all are actively engaged with campers

  • Meet with coordinator/staff for planning, troubleshooting and day-to-day operations

  • Assist in planning and implementing Summer Rec. program

  • Maintain good rapport and communication with parents of assigned campers

  • Assist in training, evaluating and monitoring all assigned staff

  • Enforce discipline policies as needed

  • Other duties, as assigned

  • Minimum of four semesters of college in area associated with education/child care and/or five years' experience working in a formal setting (school/camp) with children

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Available to work all dates and times of Summer Rec. program

  • Strong leadership, team work, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work successfully with children

  • Ability to supervise personnel

Head Counselor

  • Supervise and interact with campers

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all assigned campers

  • Remain actively engaged with campers the entire time

  • Meet and communicate with coordinator/senior staff members for planning, troubleshooting and day-to-day operations

  • Plan and implement activities for assigned group

  • Maintain good rapport with parents of assigned campers

  • Utilize the discipline process as outlined

  • Other duties, as assigned

  • Minimum of two semesters of college and/or two years' experience working in a formal setting (school/camp) with children

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Available to work all dates and times of Summer Rec

  • Strong team work, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work successfully with children

Junior Counselor

  • Assist in supervision of and interact with campers

  • Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all campers

  • Remain actively engaged with campers the entire time

  • Meet and communicate with coordinator/senior staff/head counselors for planning, troubleshooting and day-to-day operations

  • Assist in planning and implementing activities for assigned group

  • Utilize the discipline process as outlined

  • Other duties, as assigned

  • Minimum of three years of high school and/or two years' experience working in a formal setting (school/camp) with children

  • Must be at least 16 years of age

  • Available to work all dates and times of Summer Rec. program

  • Strong team work, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work successfully with children
