Remote Learning Plan for Honeoye Falls-Lima Central Schools

August 7, 2020

Governor Cuomo authorized schools to re-open this fall.  HF-L leadership reviewed the Governor’s directives to learn about any new requirements and to make any adjustments to its re-opening plans.

The District posted a Question & Answer document to help parents understand HF-L’s re-opening plan for student instruction to begin on September 8th.   The District also scheduled webinars for parents to ask questions and hear more details about its re-opening plan.  These online information sessions took place at the following times:

  • Wednesday, August 12 at 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 13th at 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 18th at 6 p.m.

HF-L has submitted their plans for re-opening to the New York Department of Health and to the State Education Department.  The highlights of our re-opening plan for each school can be found by clicking on the following links:

At this point, HF-L is waiting for further written guidance and direction from the Governor.  Although you may hear various news bullets from the governor’s press conferences, the district cannot provide more specific information to help parents plan for September until the we receive and analyze written executive orders and state directives.  We are hopeful these updates will be provided to HF-L by early in the week of August 10th.

In the meantime, we realize our parents and community members may have questions and need information to make decisions.  Please submit your questions by email to or by calling Rhonda Schaefer at 585 624 7010.  The school district will compile your questions, post answers, and plan virtual information meetings as soon as possible in the week of August 10th.
