HF-L is a 2007 and 2010 recipient of the New York State Good Sports Award and the New York State Healthy STARS Award, a 2009 recipient of the prestigious national Magna Award for leadership in diversity efforts and a 2011 recipient of the Outstanding Physical Education STARS Program Award. Lima Primary School is a 2010 honoree of NYSASCD for the Educating the Whole Child for the 21st Century Award. HF-L is one of 112 school districts in the nation recognized two years in a row by the College Board with a place on its AP® Achievement List for opening AP classroom doors to a significantly broader pool of students, while maintaining or improving the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher. HF-L was recognized by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) with an Education Team Excellence Recognition Award at the highest-awarded level of Distinction at the 2011 National Quality Education Conference for the District’s QED Process Improvement Project.
HF-L ranks in the top 2.3% of districts in NYS to achieve the highest category of rating on return on investment in a study released January 2011 by the Center for American Progress.
