🎉 School Board Recognition Week 🎉

October 13–17 is School Board Recognition Week in New York State — a time to celebrate the dedicated volunteers who help shape the future of our schools and students.

“School board members give the HF-L citizens a voice in education decision-making,” said Superintendent Gene Mancuso. “They devote countless hours to ensuring our schools help every child learn at a higher level.”

This week, HF-L will honor its Board of Education members through a special social media campaign featuring a yearbook-style “Board of Education Superlatives” theme. Board members will also be recognized during this week’s Board of Education meeting.

Congratulations to Mrs. Vitale on being a recipient of the BOE's Cougar Pride Award! Vitale was nominated by student Lydia T. who noted "She is really funny and makes learning fun. She also lets us do independent reading after lunch/recess. She also is understanding if you make a mistake and lets us ask her questions about our homework. Mrs. Vitale also ran part of our pond dipping field trip so that was cool too. That is why Mrs. Vitale would be a great choice for this award." #WeAreHFL
