Congratulations to Julie Tatakis and Jennifer Edkins on being recipients of the BOE's Cougar Pride Award! Tatakis and Edkins were nominated by Karen Hatch for going above and beyond for their students!

Congratulations to Rhonda Schaefer on being a recipient of the BOE's Cougar Pride Award! Schaefer was nominated by the entire District Office for being a consummate professional who routinely goes above and beyond to help citizens, employees, and students with any number of problems or concerns they may have. Each day she may notarize a college letter or job application for a high school student, help a family contact someone directly in any one of our schools, and interact with staff to make sure they know how to complete one of hundreds of state reports or required processes needed to keep them focused on helping students learn. She always offers to help, foresees issues before they arise, and is willing to help in any situation. No matter what the situation or topic, Schaefer ALWAYS greets everyone with a smile and exhibits so much kindness and patience. For our students, you should know that she is one of the first people the Superintendent contacts to close school on a snow day. That is an important job. One that she has done with limited fanfare for many years. Schaefer has always been someone we all admire and appreciate. She is warm and inviting and will be greatly missed here at HFL! We wish her well in the next chapter. She is in fact, Cougar Proud.
