Congratulations to Mrs. Vitale on being a recipient of the BOE's Cougar Pride Award! Vitale was nominated by student Lydia T. who noted "She is really funny and makes learning fun. She also lets us do independent reading after lunch/recess. She also is understanding if you make a mistake and lets us ask her questions about our homework. Mrs. Vitale also ran part of our pond dipping field trip so that was cool too. That is why Mrs. Vitale would be a great choice for this award." #WeAreHFL

Congratulations to Mrs. O’Hearn on being a recipient of the BOE's Cougar Pride Award! O'Hearn was nominated by parent Courtney Larson who noted "Mrs. O’Hearn is such an amazing teacher! She is such a great support to all students. She is always helping students after school. Congratulations to Anna High on being a recipient of the BOE's Cougar Pride Award! High was nominated by her 24-25 entire Kindergarten Class. High's nomination wrote the following: "Miss High is an exceptional kindergarten teacher whose classroom is nothing short of magical. With unwavering positivity, she creates a joyful and nurturing environment where every child feels seen, valued, and inspired to learn. She consistently takes the time to acknowledge positive moments with handwritten notes and postcards sent to her students in the mail, celebrating achievements and recognizing the Habits of Mind. Her teaching reflects the highest standards—rooted in best practices and driven by a deep belief in what young learners can achieve. Miss High creates a beautiful balance between learning and fun, as well as so many magical experiences throughout the year from her play centers, to transforming her classroom into exciting places like a theater and a red carpet for her published authors. Through her dedication, creativity, and high expectations, she has not only built a strong academic foundation for her students but also sparked a lifelong love of learning. The Wait is Over—It’s the First Day of School! 🎉 From our returning students to our seniors celebrating their last first day, today was filled with energy, excitement, and Cougar pride. 🐾

And tomorrow, the adventure continues as we welcome our youngest learners—the kindergarten Class of 2038—to their very first day at HF-L. 💛🖤 #WeAreHFL
