About Lima Primary

Lima Primary is one of two elementary schools in the Honeoye Falls-Lima School District. Located at 7342 College Street in Lima, NY, Lima Primary serves students in kindergarten and first grade.

The mission of Lima Primary School is to lay the foundation for each student to attain the highest possible level of academic, social, physical, and emotional development. Accepting the premise that all children can learn, our school community provides a supportive environment that nurtures and encourages thinking, learning, and creativity. Each child leaves our building with a sense of success, achievement, and positive self-esteem.

Highlights of Lima Primary School:

• Full-day kindergarten and first-grade programs that emphasize the development of the whole child, ensuring that each student is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.

• Balanced class sizes and a rich literacy and mathematics program aligned to the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards, with learning experiences integrated throughout art, music, library, and physical education.

• Highly qualified, collaborative teachers who use formal and informal assessments to differentiate instruction and meet individual student needs and interests. Student learning is supported through a building-wide Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework that promotes academic, social, and behavioral success.

• School-wide implementation of the Habits of Mind, helping students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, persistence, flexibility, empathy, and lifelong learning skills that support success both in and beyond the classroom.

• A supportive PTA, along with parent and community volunteers, who enrich the school experience during and beyond the school day by offering engaging programs, family activities, and interactive parent-child events that bring learning to life throughout the year.
